Happy Friday – AND AUGUST! Since summer is in full swing, I thought I would share some of my favorite summer essentials this season- from my favorite SPF, to the water bottle that keeps the my drinks ice cold in 102 degree weather (even when I forgot it in my car all day long)!
sun hat
Not only will your face thank you from blocking the sun out, but your summer outfit will be topped off in the perfect way. A hat always elevates any look, without trying to hard.
SPf / sunscreen
SAVE YOUR SKIN. Nobody wants extra wrinkles in the future- they aren’t worth the color. You can’t reverse sun damage, but you CAN invest in bronzer- which brings me to my next pick.
bronzer
Whether it be bronzing powder to top off your makeup look, or a self-tan spray for non-pasty legs, everyone needs a little summer glow- or ( in my very white skin case) a LOT. This is a safe way to get a little color!
White sandals
They go with everything and can go anywhere- from the beach to a night out to dinner. Dress them up or down with dresses or shorts. I purchased a pair of these Dolce Vita sandals 2 years ago and get complimented on them everywhere I go- to the point where my husband was shocked at the amount of women stopping me on the streets for them! I wore these on our honeymoon all around Positano, and on my New England trip this June. I even purchased a second pair in all white on SALE (54% off) a couple days ago!
summer scent
Mine may not be everyone’s pick for summer, but I feel like I’m on vacation when I wear this! It’s probably because this is the scent of one of my favorite hotels in Miami, The Miami Beach Edition. Le Labo’s Thé Noir.
basket bag
I have not stopped using my Clare V basket bag that my mom gifted me for my honeymoon last year! It’s lightweight, goes with any outfit and can be taken straight from the beach to dinner. Also, the Cult Gaia Basket is a definite spring/summer classic! I rotate between the two all season long.
water bottle
Staying hydrated is the KEY to maintaining healthy and glowing skin. It’s hard to remember when you’re having fun in the sun- this bottle will remind you AND keep your drink cool all day long. Divide your body weight by 2 and that’s the amount of water (in ounces) you should be drinking a day- I take mine everywhere I go so I don’t forget.
Gold Necklace
I layer gold necklaces all year round- but there is something to be said about throwing a simple gold chain with a pendant attached that makes a simple white dress pop. This one has one of my favorite plants on it and comes with a layering piece! Philendedrons forever. <3️
wavy hair spray
My hair is naturally wavy, but I never say no to a little help- especially when the Miami humidity steps in. One of my current favorites is from Ouai- and it smells really yummy. I also really like the Ouia texture spray when you want that “day after you wash your hair”-look with a little *oomph*.
lip balm
My lips get so dry in the summers so I always make sure to have a hydrating balm in every bag, in my desk drawer and on my nightstand. These Glossier ones make me feel like I’m on vacation when I use them- coconut and mango are my go-to summer flavors.
