Yay, for DIY’s! (Do it yourself) Confession: I am not the craftiest person in the world. Honestly, I started painting pumpkins last year because I knew if I even ATTEMPTED to carve a pumpkin, it would look like a giant mess. But painting mini pumpkins is easy, fun and you can get very creative without making a giant mess. PLUS, there are so many fun places you can put them to add some holiday cheer into your space or home.  DSC_0279

-Mini Pumpkins

-Paint

-Glitter

-Paint Brushes/sponges

There are so many things you can do to decorate a pumpkin! These are just a few ideas and techniques that I used.

One technique to make a striped pumpkin is to use tape to make the lines and paint over it with the colors that you like (I used gold because its one of my all-time favorite colors of the moment and it matches my room).

The second pumpkin I decorated consisted of polkadots and chartreuse (my second favorite color). I used a Martha Stewart circle sponge because of my lack of artistic abilities, but if you can free-hand polkadots, DO IT!

My personal favorite pumpkin decor tool : GLITTER! This little baby pumkin is my favorite because it sparkles. BEWARE: this can get very messy! Try to do this outside…I learned the hard way. Just spread glitter glue wherever you want the glitter to stick ( I chose to cover the entire pumpkin, but you can try an hombre effect). Then pour the glitter on it over a small plate.

Last, but not least! I absolutely love white pumpkins, even just plain. At first, I just painted the stem chartreuse. But then, I thought the pumpkin looked a little naked next to the other ones, so I put my favorite doodle all around it (the only thing I can decently draw like a kindergardener): hearts.

And voilå! You’ve got yourself four adorable little pumpkins to place everywhere from a book shelf to a coffee table, to your night stand or on a tray for embellishment. Here are my final pumpkins and some ideas on where to place them ( I move mine like every day).
