A crisp white, oversized button-up that looks like you creeped into your boyfriend’s closet and tried to style it better. It worked! This is a definite essential in my closet. There is something so chic about wearing black and white. I used to think that white button-down shirts looked too professional, or like I was going to court. But then I realized how many ways you can style it and it became a wardrobe staple.

I paired my Madewell oversized top with some black ripped skinny jeans for a bit of edge. And added a bit of glamour with a chunky gem necklace. The loafers were also a key piece in this outfit. I was going to wear heels with it, but I wanted a more casual daytime look- so instead of sneakers, I went for a polished finish with the patent loafers (PS: They are so comfy and on sale right now!).
See! Who says you can’t borrow from the boys?
Stay tuned for another look from my #BackToTheBasics series.
