Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had an awesome weekend ringing in 2017 with your loved ones. Winter style is upon us, but it’s a bit hard out here for us Miami-ans in warm-ish weather. Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way complaining about the coveted heat that we have, it’s just difficult to stay with the winter trends. That’s why I am going to give you 3 tips on how to dress for the warm winter days without sacrificing style.
3 WAYS TO DRESS FOR WARM WINTERS
1. LACE IT UP
Lace is always a great fabric for warm weather because it has the see-through factor. You can cover up and show some skin at the same time. I LOVE this Topshop skirt because it is long and has a wintry feel to it with the color (my next point), but your legs can still breathe and be exposed without showing too much skin.
2. PICK A WINTER COLOR SCHEME
Color is another way to dress according to season, even if your city’s weather doesn’t match the country’s. For this outfit, I chose winter white and dark neutrals like grey and a woodsy emerald green.
3. SANDAL BOOTIES ARE YOUR FRIEND
You may not be able to get away with your over-the-knee boots when it’s hitting 80 degrees, but you can invest in some sandal-like boots similar to mine. These are a few years old, and I’ve used them with so many different outfits in both Miami and LA on hot nights. You may not be able to wear a sweater, but your feet won’t over-heat when they can breathe in your boots.
Outfit Details:
Anthropologie Sweater || Topshop Skirt || Vince Booties (old, but similar here) || Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag || Laura Mercier Lipstick in “Temptation” c/o || Michele Watch ||
I hope my warm weather tips help and inspire you to still dress the part this Winter. And if you are reading from your cold-weather state in your cozy sweater, Ugg boots and blanket with hot cocoa in hand- I’m jealous. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side, right?
Have the BEST first week of 2017!
