Hello clean beauty, sun protection and good skin in a bottle!
Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful summer so far. It’s difficult to believe that we are already in the tail-end of summer! If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen my whirlwind journey; from making Miami home (again), to buying a house, and traveling back to New England for the summer. Life has been good, but crazy, which allowed me to take a blogging hiatus. I have sought to find inspiration, as well as my creative voice, but I am glad to be back, and hope to be more consistent on this platform with the intent to build more of a community with you. Below, I am sharing my favorite seasonal beauty products and why they are on my top shelf.
Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint
“Good skin in a bottle”
THIS serum has replaced my everyday tinted moisturizer and is my beauty MVP for the summer! If you want that dewy, no-makeup, amazing skin, glowy look- this product is for you! When tinted moisturizer is too heavy, the Ilia Super Serum is the perfect match. Unlike other “sheer” coverage tints (which I find don’t cover anything at all), this Super Serum covers just enough to give your skin that “I woke up like this” glow, yet covering just enough. PLUS- it has SPF 40, so no worries about sun damage!
Westman Atelier Blush Stick
I know the price tag on this one is a little steep, but this clean beauty brand has been a favorite find this summer. Westman Atelier focuses on good, clean ingredients and the “less is more” makeup mindset. This blush stick doubles as a lipstick and eye shadow, so when I want a natural tint I add this little pop of color to my cheeks, lips and eyes! The color I have is called “Petal” but she (Gucci Westman, celebrity makeup artist and founder of Westman Atelier) has many other beautiful shades that I cannot wait to try out.
Tan Luxe The Body Drops
Need a little color and don’t want to lay out and tan with the sun? These little drops are my tanning secret. I like this product because you can build on the color and control how much of a tan you want. I usually add 3-4 drops to my moisturizer when I need some color on my legs and after 3 days it does the trick for me. I am fair skinned and have extremely sensitive skin so I definitely don’t mind spending a little more on these drops knowing I won’t come out orange or get a rash. All in all, they give you a great natural looking tan!
Milk Makeup Cream Bronzer
Another clean beauty brand I have found and loved is Milk Makeup. I have never been into the “contour” look, but I add this under my cheek bones, my forehead, and a bit on my nose for some natural definition. Another plus? Milk Makeup is affordable and has “minis” available at Sephora if you don’t want to commit to the larger size just yet. (That’s what I did!)
PS: If you want a more affordable version of the Westman Atelier Blush Stick from above, Milk Makeup has some really nice color options for their blush sticks also!
Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlighter Stick
I told you I was really into Westman Atelier! This highlighter is unique because it has a darker tone for a bronzy “I just got a little sun at the beach” glow. I’ve only been using it for a couple of weeks, but I find myself using it as a blush and natural eyeshadow more than a highlighter. Like I mentioned before, this brand is great for that natural “no makeup” look. The color pictured here is called “Brûlée.”
Elta MD Broad Spectrum SPF
My dermatologist recommended this SPF for my everyday moisturizer and I have been using it for about 3 years now. It’s my tried and true everyday, summer skincare favorite because no one wants wrinkles and sun damage!
