Effortless Stripes & Crisp Whites.
If you follow me on Instagram, I’m sure you can tell that I love New England- especially in the summertime! Maine, Vermont & Nantucket are just a few of my summer destinations that I have wandered through. In this post, I am sharing a few of my tried and true pieces that are always on my packing list for a summer New England destination.
The “Fanny” Crossbody
I love traveling with this Clare V bag– I use it as a crossbody. It’s the perfect size for wandering around the city, and it fits all the essentials- and a couple (or five) lipsticks. 😉 I also love that you can take off the belt and use it as a clutch for a nicer dinner out.
A Straw Hat
A hat for summer travels is a must. Not only does it elevate any look, but it keeps the sun out of your face (no wrinkles, please). The best thing about this Janessa Leone hat is not only the gorgeous color, but it’s PACKABLE- you can squish it in your carry-on or purse and it keeps its shape!
WHite Jeans
Tired of wearing blue denim with everything? Switch to white to make an effortless yet refined change to the look. I have this pair of Madewell denim in a few colors- so comfortable and very flattering.
A STriped Tee
Summer in New England = Stripes. Plain and simple! The reason I have this AYR Striped Tee in three different colors is because I love the shape, quality and it is SO comfortable. Also, AYR named it “The French Fry,” and I think that’s pretty adorable.
“Perfect for flaneuring around new places.”
A flowy skirt
Ok, so technically this picture was taken in NYC a couple days ago, but I did pack this on all of my New England adventures this summer. The reason it’s a staple is because of the versatility factor- wear it with sneakers for a day of walking or pair it with heels and a silky tank for dinner. Dress it up or dress it down.
PS: This look was inspired by one of my favorite tv character fashion icons Carrie Bradshaw. I was telling my husband this while walking around the city- and we may or may not have spotted Sarah Jessica Parker shopping. I’m not the star-struck kind of person (especially living in LA for a bit) – but it took everything in me to not stop her and say hello. I didn’t do it, but now it’s all I’ve been thinking about!
white sneakers
This brand has been tried and true in my closet- comfortable, chic and versatile. They go with everything from a dress, flowy skirt (see above) to jeans. Perfect for flaneuring around the city.
