Highlights of Spring in Washington DC
What I ate, drank & experienced during peak cherry blossom season in Washington DC.
Being the tail end of the spring season, I thought I would share one of the most magical spring trips I have ever taken: a weekend in Washington DC during the peak cherry blossom season! I have always heard that the cherry blossoms were a spectacular sight to see, but I never could have imagined the beauty of peak season, especially during an overcast day.
This trip was actually planned by my husband to celebrate my birthday, and being the flower lover that I am, he thought it would be more than appropriate- especially since I was born on the first day of Spring. Below I am sharing some of the shots I took during our trips, details on what I wore, and some of the best places we ate at that we highly recommend, particularly for foodies like us.

Sips & Eats
Rooster & Owl
Although Rooster & Owl has recently been awarded a Michelin Star (no big deal) – this restaurant is the epitome of casual and effortless luxury. The food: creative, unique and DELECTABLE. The service: some of the best we’ve ever had. So many restaurants now glaze over a birthday reservation, but the staff at Rooster & Owl went ALL out and may me feel so special with a glass of bubbly, special birthday dessert, and a hand written birthday card signed by the entire staff from the night. One of the best dining experiences I have had to date.
The Wells Gin Bar
Fun Fact: I have recently become a huge fan of gins. {I may or may not have a gin club with one of my good friends.} Luke surprised me after dinner with a reservation at The Wells. The decor, service, and of course, G&Ts are spectacular. If you are into craft cocktails, I highly recommend you snatch a reservation.
Centrolina
Another Michelin Star winner, Centrolina is a delicious Italian osteria featuring an incredible wine list and four-time James Beard nominated chef and owner Amy Brandwein. The menu is seasonally inspired and always rotating featuring local ingredients and traditional Italian fare with a modern take.
