“Beyond The Sea”…

Weird random fact about me: I always imagine a song or soundtrack while walking around or running errands. I know, it’s strange. I just really love music. So depending on my mood, I almost always have a song playing in my mind. When it’s raining, usually Norah Jones or Coldplay. When I’m angry, AC/DC or The Black Keys. If I’m feeling romantic, some Michael Buble, when I hate boys, Taylor Swift- the list can go on and ON, but you catch my drift. In confessing that, it would probably be no surprise to you that my outfits are – most of the time- inspired by a song. This one was inspired by “the man” Frank (Sinatra- we are on a first name basis, him and I) singing “Beyond the Sea.” These pants were a hidden gem found in the depths of a mountain (and by mountain, I mean under a pile of clothes in the Zara dressing room go-backs-same thing, right?); they were on sale and happen to fit me just right! Don’t you LOVE when that happens?! The tassel necklace from J.Crew is also a key item in this outfit, and a huge trend this summer. From the Gatsby craze, to runway shows like Dolce and Gabbana, tassels are a summer must-have (plus they are oh so nautical).

For an easy nautical look, start with some simple navy and white pieces. Then add some stripes. After that, you are ready for a pop of color (my favorite part!). I picked a peachy-orange for this look, but yellow or teal also look amazing with this color combo. Add some brown accessories, a dash of gold, and voilà! You are ready to sail away- or just go to the movies and dinner with some friends.
