Wrapping is one of my favorite things to do during the Christmas holiday! Every year I pick a theme, and start collecting wrapping paper and decor in August! If you haven’t already guessed, my color scheme this year is gold, silver, white and pops of balsam. It’s great to stick to theme because the presents look so beautiful and coordinated under the tree. Wrapping can be a great way to branch out and be creative, plus it shows your loved ones that you took the time to decorate it just for them. I am going to share some tips that I used this year to add some “panache” to my wrapping.

Tip 1: Use a fun and patterned tape to add an unexpected detail to the wrapping. I love the whimsical feel of mixing patterns like polkadots and stripes.

Tip 2: Use a fun “stretch-tubed ribbon” to make a hand-made bow! Cut 6-8 pieces of the ribbon (3 to 4 inches long).

Then, gather them all together and use one of the pieces to tie them in the middle.

And there you have it. A handmade ribbon of puffy love.

Tip 3: Gourmet platters of food have garnish, why can’t your presents? Borrow (or steal) some of your Christmas tree’s branches for a pretty and affordable way to spruce up a gift. Plus, it will also smell DELICIOUS.

Tip 4: Replace regular ribbon with some tool fabric. Your bestie will love their tutu-inspired prezzie!

Tip 5: Just put a bow on it. If you don’t have time to make handmade ribbon, just get a pack of pre-made bows at your local drugstore or target! They even have ones that are dipped in glitter now.

  1. Absolutely love this! Are the gold and sliver patterned papers from target? Also, where did you find the white paper?
    Love this!
