Hello Yellow

Say hi to your color cheat sheet!

Mustard. Daffodil. Maize. Or, for my Spanish speakers, Amarillo. So many shades all universally known as yellow. One of my personal favorite colors to wear no matter what the season. Contrary to popular belief, this sunshine hue is very versatile and can be worn with many color combinations. Lucky for you, I have put together a little color crash course on what to wear with yellow.

I came up with this color cheat sheet when I wanted to style this dress I bought at Zara a couple of weeks back. I was overwhelmed at the different color combinations that looked great with this hue! As you can see here, I paired this flowy dress with a variety of hues- you don’t have to pick only one! You can mix and match them to create one look.

Yellow + Blush

One of the first piece I picked up to style with the dress was my Proenza Schouler Bag! There is something beautiful about a soft pastel hue with a bright happy one – they balance each other out beautifully.

Yellow + Grey

As you can see below, I also paired my dark grey boots + my light grey Taudrey necklace with the pop of yellow. Grey actually matches with everything! If you are ever conflicted on what to pair ANY color with, the answer is almost always grey. (Side note: Grey or Gray? The world may never know.)

Yellow + Navy

Just like grey, shades of denim or navy also pair great with just about any color. The jean jacket really added another pretty unexpected pop of color.

Yellow + Tan

I don’t have a visual example of this color combo, but trust me, it’s such a pretty pair – especially for fall.
